Newman Night

Newman Night is our weekly student discussion series that focuses on living out our faith at Hopkins as well as interesting and fun topics about the faith. Discussions are in the student Newman Center, which is adjacent to the parish (follow the Hopkins Catholic signs).

Discussion begins at 8:00 PM, Wednesdays–following Holy Hour.

We meet at the marble Johns Hopkins  sign at 7:15PM to walk to church together for the last 20 minutes of Holy Hour together! Or you may meet us there–you are encouraged to go for as much or as little of Holy Hour as you need.

Our students often study in the Newman Center following discussion, so bring your books (or your pillows) for a quiet, comfortable study session.

Retreats

Going on retreat offers you the chance to get away from campus for a day of reflection, rest, and community. Staples at each our retreats include Mass, discussion, prayer, and Emmaus walks. Emmaus walks provide a time for our students to freely explore the religious sites and build new, prayerful connections with another student, inspired by the Emmaus Reading (Luke 24:13-35). At least three retreats are offered each year and vary in location from Washington D.C., Emmitsburg, Ellicott City, to our very own city of Baltimore.

The Fall Retreat and Spring Retreat are open to all Hopkins students and will usually involve staying one or two nights away from campus.

Details & sign-ups will be provided ahead of time through weekly emails.
